Below are downloads for all image files used by Huff et al. (2003) and Royer et al. (2005). The three sites marked with asterisks (*) were used by Huff et al.; Royer et al. used all 17 sites. Sites are arranged from coldest to warmest. For further details of sites, see Royer et al. paper. The total size of the individual image files for each site is noted. The components of the file names are as follows, from left to right: site abbreviation, herbarium number, species name, and photo number (except for ANF, York, and BCI; for these sites, see tab-delimited text file for converting photo number to species name). Nomenclature authorities follow Croat (1978) for Barro Colorado Island and USDA (2004) for all other sites. Some synonymies remain in parentheses to facilitate reconciliation with labels on herbarium sheets. All images were taken with a Nikon 995 Coolpix camera (2048 x 1536 pixels), and are completely unprocessed and in jpeg format. Scale bar units = 1 cm.

You are welcome to use these images and data for your own research. We only ask that you let us know (Dana Royer or Peter Wilf) and acknowledge us in any resulting publications. Processed images, which include clean backgrounds and tooth selection, are available upon request.
